Loan without 2 year work history

Any way to obtain a mortgage loan in Canada without a 2 year work history. I’ve been self employed until now. I’ve spoke with the major banks they all require a solid 2 years. What should I do ? Any banks or lenders that are more flexible in this aspect of things. Perhaps with a higher down payment? I feel like things are always harder in Canada compared to the States when it comes to real estate
