SDIRA - MORTAGE HELP?!

I have recently started helping my grandfather, who has had a decline in health recently, handle and manage his investments. I am a young college student who has been watching BP videos and other RE investors on YouTube for a while. Now it is time to actually make moves with real money, not just spreadsheet analysis!

So my grandfather's Self Directed IRA has a few mortgages on properties throughout the state of Florida and he suggested to me that I try to transfer or liquidate the notes sooner rather than later. I was curious if anyone BP members have any expertise with self directed IRA mortgage best practices. Looking for creative ideas on how to either transfer these notes out of the SDIRA or liquidate them within the IRA somehow. I apologize if i'm not using the right terminology...

I'm based out of St. Pete, FL - I'd be happy to meet for lunch or coffee if any seasoned investors want to share some knowledge with a newbee!

Thanks!
