Professional Athlete Mortgage Issues
I am currently a pro athlete playing hockey overseas and am trying to put a lot of what I make over here into real estate investing. I am trying to set myself up for after hockey seeing as I am making most of my money at a young age (I am currently 29). I have plenty of time in the offseason, which is about 5 months around summertime and currently want to invest in the Chicago area. Even though I have a good amount of cash on hand, it is hard for athletes to secure a mortgage from the banks without a three year contract. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on possible ways around this or creative ways to help me secure a mortgage or other ways to fund my deals. Thank you!
