Mortgage Loan with Employment Gap

Hello everyone. I was planning to buy my first investment property back in March but haven't worked since then because of the situation right now- it has been six month since then. If I were to get a job in the same industry soon and perhaps a letter explaining my circumstance, would it be possible to qualify for a mortgage loan as soon as I get that new job?- or would have to start my two year employment history again? I do have a current primary FHA loan for my primary home if that matters at all.
