VA loan down payments
Hello everyone I am currently looking for a lender for a VA home loan. I am in discussion with veterans United home loans.
My dilemma here is I have not been at my current job for 2+ years so my intentions was to use a co signer ( mother) to help ease the process. Everyone that is aware the biggest benefit of a VA loan is 0% down. However veterans United told me if I am not married to the co signer I am subject to 12.5% down payment. Does anyone Is this across the board with VA loans?
Figured I’d ask here but I am going to reach out to navy fed etc as soon as I can.
Thanks in advance :)
