How can I remove a co borrower from mortgage
I will be BRRRR a property soon. When I refinance I plan to add a co borrower to the loan because my DTI ratio is too high to qualify on my own. My question is how can I remove the co borrower from the loan in the future (the person does not wish to remain on the loan for the full 30 year period, they just agreed to be a co borrower to help me get around my DTI issue). Thanks

@Account Closed Usually this is done through another refinance in your own name once you're able to qualify on your own.
Just FYI, during that refinance process, whatever lender you use may have the co-borrower sign a quitclaim deed as part of the refi paperwork. However, don't try to remove the co-borrower on your own by ONLY having them sign a quitclaim deed (without going through a refinance) because all that will do is release their interest in the property but not their obligation from the existing loan.
