Should I use a real estate attorney to help with my private money deal?  I don’t have a clue how the contract should be written etc. Thanks!

Kisha, absolutely. Your lender will use own and probably will provide docs. If you use their docs, have an attorney review them.

If it's a family member and they expect you to prepare the docs, find a qualified attorney to do so.  This is something you'd pay for but shouldn't cost much of the attorney has done this before. If they haven't, you didn't find the right attorney.
