Self-employed and financing

Nick Koukidis
Posted

Hello all,

I am a self employed contractor in CT. I have been running the family business for 16 of its 35 year history. It amazes me that if i wanted to go to a bank and ask for a loan for a piece of hard equipment they would fall over themselves to help me.

You go in for a heloc or a mortgage and its like i have the financial equivalent leprosy!!

I am frustrated with the whole process but trying to see what other avenues i can take to reach my goals.

Are there any programs available to small business owners?

Or any advice from other contractor investors out there?

Thank you in advance

Do you own  any percentage of the family business?  how  are you paid ?  draw?  salary ? if you have ability to  make the income you are =earning  appear on your  2019  tax return ,   having some tax returns with a solid  verifiable income will be  very beneficial  in the future
