Surveyor Goes The Extra Mile

I usually don’t sing the praises of any third party provider. Most of our third party providers provide a one-time service for which they are paid. Like most service based interactions these days, it is always just about the “transaction.”

We recently found a Surveyor who goes against the grain. David Hawkes of Boundary Consultants, who operates in most States in the West, recently did some work for our Company. Once the survey work was completed and the surveyor was paid in this case, the job was over right? Transaction complete.

Several days after receiving and paying for our survey, some issues came up that had to be resolved at the County. We called the surveyor to ask him some questions regarding this. This new issue was completely unrelated to his survey work, but we sought his professional advice anyway. He responded that he had some friends over at the County and that he would personally go over and resolve these issues himself. (And this was with no offer of additional compensation to him for doing so!) As promised, the surveyor went to the County the next day and resolved the issue for us at no charge. Again, this issue was completely unrelated to the work he had performed for us.

These days, it is hard to find a third party provider that isn’t just focused the “transaction.” This surveyor we found cared about us enough to take time out of his day to help us, beyond the “transaction” for which he was paid. And with no expectation for additional compensation. If you need a great Surveyor anywhere in the Western States, this is the guy to call. Integrity, great customer service, and a rare willingness to go the extra mile.
