Help! How can I verify a private lender to make sure he is legit?
I have been searching all over for a private lender for a deal I am considering on 3 properties containing 12 units. I found a guy on Craigslist who is willing to work with me. Is there any way I can verify that this person is legitimate before I send him all of my personal information? He is willing to give me $400k at 11% for 60 months interest only.

I go to craigslist if I want to buy an expensive bicycle, maybe a coffee table or a book shelf, NOT A LENDER.
Go to your local REIA and there should be plenty of hard money lenders. Pay the $200 or $300 annual fee for the REIA. There will be so many benefits that you will get in return.
