Employment Verification Question:

My wife and I have jointly applied for a loan in the state of California. We’re currently waiting for underwriter approval which should come back tomorrow.

My wife wants to give notice to her current employer and join a different company. Her income is a portion of our qualifying income.

When the lender requests employer verification, if she gives notice would this typically be disclosed by the company? California has strict laws about what can and cannot be asked but I have no idea if this would kill the deal.

She would still be working for the company after we’re scheduled to close escrow but wants to leave shortly after.

Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!
