If I live in MA and want to buy a property in Arizona, do I need to get a loan in MA or AZ? (assuming traditional bank financing)

@Derek Morrison Generally the path of least resistance will be to work with an in-state lender for an Arizona residential transaction (1-4). Each state has nuances that are unique and will just make the process smoother. Also, residential agents, in general, prefer an in-state lender. Out of state lenders require more hand-holding, training etc on the way Arizona works.

Commercial is a different ball game and is far more receptive to an out of state lender.
