Percentage to private money lender family member

Kevin Reik
Posted

My father is considering a HELoC to fund my real estate investment

What would be his pay structure?

What percentage should he get?

What are average HELoC rates (Im in NY but curious of rates to expect)

He would be silent for the most part, covering the funding - my down payment

I would hold the title of the property and be the primary decision maker

Thank you in advance for any advice as to how to structure this type of funding

Let me know if I should just use a bank mortgage instead

@Kevin Reik welcome to BP I see it is your first post.  I pay 10% to my private lenders. I would much rather be at 8%. What you pay your dad depends entirely on what you two can agree to.
