New York - Mortgage Refinance
I have a mortgage at $54k and a propety worth upwards of $165k. I'd love to start the process of refinancing, however, ere there institutions, who you can work with, to obtain an appraisal prior to paying the refinance fee? Trid regulations are killing me and I am unsure if the appraisal will come in at $130k , $145k, etc.

Hey! @Jay Ganz The appraisal has to be ordered by the lender and the lender will not do that without collecting the fee. Though the fees the lender collects should be to cover the appraisal report and credit. If lenders are asking you for more then find a different lender.
