Everyone should email the governor and thank him for his veto of HB 747. I received a letter that was sent out to those who had responded. In the letter, the governor noted that individuals that wanted to lend their child or relative money via a mortgage would need to be licensed in the state. He stated this law would have been burdensome to families and also noted the law would have made FL one of the most restrictive states in the nation in residential mortgage lender. As a private or HML, we still have to comply with Dodd-Frank.
