When deciding to work with a private lender, how to you insure they are qualified and it is safe to give them access to your personal information

I would only use someone from my local real estate investor group. They usually pay to be sponsors at the meetings. These are the people who are doing loans on a regular basis. I would not use someone who contacted me through the internet. Go to their office. Ask friends who are rehabbing where they got their loan. You should know at least several people who are doing what you want to do.
