re-amortization options, lender doesn't support

Hi,

I would like to lower the monthly payment on primary residence by paying down some of the principle. My home loan was sold to 'Bank of the Cascades'  around 6-months ago, i called them and they told me they don't have a program to do that. I believe my only other option is to re-fi (but the rates are a little higher and there will also be re-fi costs), are there any other options i should look into?

thanks,
Sam

No one gets paid when you re-amortize aka recast, so they want you to refinance. Escalate to the call center's management people. Be a pain in the butt. As you've already discovered it's not in the realm of things where you will get good customer service. Only reason to refinance is if you just get so fed up that you're over it, and if that happens I'd suggest not giving your business to the folks that got you fed up.
