So I'm going to purchase my first home/MFR and was advised to used a mortgage lender directly instead of a bank lender for obtaining a mortgage loan. Your thoughts or advice?

Go with the broker they will find you the best deal as opposed to you finding your own best deal.

Make sure you have a long term investment plan to provide to the broker so that what you get will fit with your future plans. Your broker will be one of your team members along with real estate, accountant, and lawyer.
