HELOC - Stop payment on check TIP
While applying for my HELOC yesterday, the bank (Citizens Bank) gave me a tip about writing checks that was new to me. She said I should write a check form my HELOC to any of my other checking accounts because I'm not able to do a "Stop Payment" on a check coming from my HELOC. Checks from my normal checking account can have the payment stopped if I run into trouble with a contractor for example.
I'm not sure if this is the case for all HELOCs or not but thought I would share in case folks didn't know this.
