Vetting a potential lender who wants my SS# and DOB and more
Hi,
I finance fix and flips and have financed about 34 so far. I am in a spot where my borrowers want more money so I'm trying to find more sources. I found a money guy on craigslist that says he has large quantities of money to lend to real estate projects. He sent me an application and there are a lot of questions. I don't mind most of them but then it understandably requests my SS# and DOB. I don't feel comfortable giving this out to a stranger. I completely understand why he wants it, as I always request a SS# and DOB when doing credit checks, but don't feel comfortable giving mine out to a complete stranger. Suggestions?
My leading idea now is to fill out all the questions except for SS# and DOB and see if I can send him a credit report I generate myself.
Steve
