Construction loans

Hey all, I understand construction loans vary based on the bank you are talking to, but maybe you all could answer this... Are you able to or has anybody used part of their construction loan for the purchase of their home (going to be renovated)? Just looking to flip a house and have been talking with a local bank.. It's been a little bit of a sluggish process and wanted to be ahead of the game. Advice is much appreciated!
