Wells Fargo Said I Need 6 Lines of Credit?

Hey BiggerPockets,

I'm graduating in a couple weeks, and I'm looking for a duplex/multi-family home. I talked to Wells Fargo and he told me that everything else I have is good (the money down, job stability, etc.). The only thing he said that is barring me from getting a loan is my credit. I have a credit card with Wells Fargo that I have been prompt with, but he said I needed at least 6 different lines (phone bills, car payments, etc.). If I start those credit payments now, Wells Fargo needs at least 6 months of proof.

I don't want to wait 6 months. Is there a way I can get around that? Are there are local banks or credit unions that don't require 6 lines of credit?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Dan
