Land Contract/Contract for Deed - Vacant Land - Texas

Is a land contract / contract for deed legal in Texas for sale of vacant land / vacant lots?

I've read a number of posts and web articles and seem to get varied information, as it relates specifically to selling vacant land. Most of the articles speak specifically to residential or commercial with some inferring to vacant land being expected from the Dodd-Frank / SAFE / more stringent Texas real estate laws.

Anyone have knowledge or experience? I recognize before I do such a transaction, even with the benefit of knowledge from this forum, I need to use a lawyer. I will do that but want to have perspective on the possibilities before I go that path.
