Is it possible to close and reopen an insurance claim?

Posted

A borrower filed a wind claim for another property on his insurance a year ago. Though the insurance company agreed to pay him, they have not yet sent out the reimbursement, and the claim is still open today.

The current insurance company can't review the borrower's application because the claim is still open. The closing date is coming up next week and the current property is not insured yet. Is it possible to close and reopen a claim? Please advise.

Thank you very much,
