Starting an LLC in Wyoming, While Investing in California

Hello All.

I'm going to start an LLC to buy an investment property in San Diego,CA. I need an LLC for access to funding (hard money or otherwise?) and I've been told starting an LLC in Wyoming is beneficial.

As stated, I live in California and will be investing in real estate in California.  

Does anyone have any experience in having an LLC from Wyoming and investing under it in California?
