Private Money Lenders / National Bank Loans South Florida

Hello everyone, I am a newbie real estate investor looking to do long term buy and hold residential properties in the Saint Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach County areas of South Florida.  I currently reside in New Jersey.  Currently, I have one preapproval loan but am looking to get three and go with the best rates.  My realtor also suggested getting a lender that's local.  My questions I have are: Private Lender or National Bank for a first property?  Also, what bank or company do you or do you not recommend?  Thank you!
