30% Liquid Reserves... Thoughts?

I attended a presentation last night where a very knowledgeable and well-researched investor with 20+ years of real estate investing experience shared her 2022 financial forecast.

One takeaway was her recommendation to hold 30% liquid reserves. Why? We're in a time of increased uncertainty. Holding liquid reserves allows one to weather storms and eventually jump on opportunities.

I'll add - I always listen more closely to investors who weathered the great recession. Yes whatever happens may look different this time, but the major aspects of a downturn are always the same - reduced asset prices and locked up credit markets.

Thoughts?
