FHA Primary Residence -- Possibly Relocating in Six Months
My wife and I are considering purchasing a four-plex with an FHA loan. We own no other property. However, we've tentatively discussed the possibility of going overseas to teach English for a year. If we decide to do so, that would start in about six months.
If we decide to go overseas, would we be in violation of the FHA twelve-month primary residence requirement? What if we rented out our unit while we were gone?
We would intend on living in the property as our primary residence upon our return.
