LLC vs Property Management Company

Investment Gurus,

Here is a question that I am not sure has been asked before. A relative owns two condos (that he rents out) in a complex that is partly condos and partly apartments. They have an on site property management company.

Now to limit his liability can he just use the property management company (which is an LLC) to manage the condos? Or should he form his own LLC?

The property management company handles payments, maintenance, contracts etc.

I am mainly wondering if the property management company gives him enough of a legal buffer.

tia,
