Roaming House Hacking

Antonio A.
Posted

Hi

I have a thought I was going to throw out to the Biggerpockets world and see what the feedback is.

Sometimes it’s difficult to come up with the 20% to 25% needed to buy multiple investment properties fast and build a rapidly expanding portfolio.

If you buy a home as your primary residence you can put as little as 10% down. Has anyone ever thought about roaming house hacking?

If you live in the same city that you’re investing, does anyone know if you could buy a house for 10% down live in it for six months and then move out and rent it and do the same thing over and over and over? This way you can build a portfolio quicker without having to put down high down payments every time. I’m sure that there are real estate agents and brokers who could clarify if this is something which is legal and viable?

Cheers
