Converting a second home into rental
How long do I need to wait after purchase to convert my second home into a rental property?
I bought a condo in Southern California and now I have to return back home to Northern California as our office is opening back up. I do not want to sell it but am unable to pay mortgage and just have it sit there empty. I would like to rent it out.
I know my mortgage is set as “second home”, but is there any ethical way to convert it to a rental property?
Thank you
