Hello BP family. Is there anyone that could give a little insight on transforming a single family home into an assistant living facility? A family member moved out and we want to keep the property so we were thinking of turning it into a RAL. But we don't really know where to start. any info would be appreciated. :)

Hello @Romi Gaddy. I have experience with residential assisted living facilities (RAL)in Georgia. It is my understanding that you are wanting to convert a residential home (3b, 1.5ba) into a RAL? If so, the first thing you would want to do is ensure the home is zoned properly. In Georgia, each county and city can have their own rules and regulations for the number of residents allowed in the home. It would be prudent to check if Baltimore follows the same model. If you make significant modifications to the home, you are going to want to be sure the city allows this. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thank you!
