Anyone Investing In Real Estate via REITs?
I know plenty of people like hard assets when it comes to real estate but if the main goal is alpha, then why not focus on what returns the biggest bang for the buck and generates strong ROI? REITs must pay dividends and obviously when the real estate market heats up, REITs get hot. But for the most part, they've been relatively quiet from a price appreciation. What I have seen (and take it with a grain of salt), so many REITs took it on the chin and are now actually penny stocks. There's plenty of room to rebuild and many of these REITs dealing with things like hospitality and leisure are in recapitalization processes right now. Good and bad obviously for the company and shareholders. But if the companies can come out on top after all of the dust settles, then not only are you looking at decent % gains on the principal amount but also a nice setup for dividend yields too.
