Elderly potential seller
Hi folks! First post for me.
I am a real estate agent in MA, still within my first few years in the business. I now am looking to dive into investing! Via word of mouth, I was told an older business owner, who also owns multiple properties, would be looking to possibly sell a duplex in a desirable area nearby (possibly other properties?) . He is in his 70's and does not want to be as wrapped up in things as a landlord (so I'm told by the 3rd party). I was given direct contact information, but before I reach out, I'm trying to figure out the most important questions as an INVESTOR, to ask the potential seller in this off market situation.
my initial thoughts are: 1) confirm their motivation for selling, 2) price they would consider selling 3) possibly seller financing options? (the age factor causes me concern)
Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated!
