Doing demo for experience?

I’ve been trying to wholesale for the past month or two and haven’t come up with anything. One person I called said he needed help with demo work so I’ve been shoveling out old insulation and smashing walls for $15/hr on my days off.

I eventually want to find my own property to BRRR so I thought it could be good experience to see a rehab from demo to finish (I think he's fine with me checking up on the property as it progresses).

Do you think this is a productive use of my time, or am I falling into a trap of low leverage work?

Heck yeah bro!!!!  I'm pumped to pieces to read about what you're doing and considering i usually pay closer to $10/hr for this work I'd say you're earning a decent amount for the workout.

It is only a waste IF you waste the opportunity.  Soak it up bro.  Be a sponge.  You're going to be around the nitty gritty beef of the rehab process and you'll have the opportunity to learn a TON if you keep your head on a swivel and stay curious.

Don't build your life around it, but use this as a lever to get the door open and remember . . . stay humble, stay hungry, and stay interested.
