There are different reason to invest. While most people invest for the highest ROI as possible while balancing and trying to minimize as much risk as possible, there are also other reasons to invest. Some people invest in an area near family so that they can enjoy visiting family while being able to use some of the costs of their trip as business expenses when they check in on their properties during the family visit. Or maybe they buy a vacation rental property so that their family can use it for personal use a few times a year and then they break even or make a little bit of cash flow on it but no where near what they would make investing in what they normally invest in.

What is your favorite lifestyle investment that may not make the best return but that improves you life and lifestyle?
