What should I do with my single family home?

So my partner and I plan on owning property later this year. Both of our spouses are on board. We're just raising capital and educating ourselves. Not to mention I have a baby on the way. Right now I own a single family home with 3 dogs and a cat, however my wife and I were talking about house hacking and how much money that will save us. My question is do I sell my SFH or rent it out? Does it make sense to move into a multi family building with a baby, 3 dogs, and a cat? Our goal in the future is to own a bigger home anyway but I feel like since I own property already I should hold on to it.

Thanks in advance!
