Direct Mail Marketing - How it's Done

I got a simple question I'm hoping y'all can help me out with.

How does one effective do Direct Mail Marketing?
I have a list of property owners I want to reach out to.

Is there a service I can pay for to have my letters sent out routinely?
What have y'all used to get your offers out by mail?

I have used click2mail before, you can upload an Excell spreadsheet and send out letters to mass groups and schedule repeat sendings.
