Cpa with focus on Real Estate

Looking for any referrals for a CPA specialized in Real estate. Have rentals in Texas and Arkansas so if knowledgeable in those states that would be helpful. Prefer If they also invest in real estate. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Hi Remone - I'm an investor in Arkansas, and I'm also searching for a CPA who specializes in real estate. Personally, I want a firm who will help me create a plan for the year(s) ahead and aggressively minimize my tax burden. Landmark has several offices in Arkansas. I spoke with Michelle Lewis right before Christmas. She demonstrated a deep understanding of the tax advantages of real estate. We covered LLCs and cost segregation/bonus depreciation during our call. I was particularly happy that she asked a lot of questions about my situation, and I found her to be an excellent communicator.

Mauldin Vaught is based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. When I called the office James Hawk, a staff CPA, picked up the phone. He answered my questions right then and there. I was impressed to get ahold of a CPA so quickly. James was easy to talk to and an excellent communicator. We covered 1031 exchanges, cost segregation/bonus depreciation, and how to classify as a real estate professional on our call.

This firm is not based in Arkansas, but they work with real estate investors across the US. I first found them on a podcast and was impressed with their focus on minimizing tax burdens for investors. Subsequently they were recommended to me by an investor in Arkansas. I have a call scheduled with them tomorrow.
