RE Investing or Stock Market Investing?

The crowd on BP maybe leans more towards RE unless I missed the stock section.

Donald Trump net worth $2.5B
Warren Buffet net worth $54B

The investor gurus are always trying to sell their latest and greatest training and touting Real Estate. Seems they might be more vocal.

Any thoughts?

Any Statistics/data?

Leverage seems like the biggest item in favor of Real Estate.
Transaction cost & ease of owning seem like biggest item in favor of Stocks.

Using that logic:

Forrest Mars, Jr net worth $17B
Jacqueline Mars net worth $17B
John Mars net worth $17B
Donald Trump net worth $2.5B

Clearly, opening a candy shop is more lucrative than investing in real estate... :)
