Options as an Attorney in Real Estate
BP Community,
I have two more years in my service commitment with the USAF, and I'm a licensed attorney in Texas and looking to head back that way; however, I am conflicted on if I want to dive into real estate investing full-time or stick with my law degree and leverage that to learn, grow, and make inroads into real estate investment circles that I might not otherwise have access to. A full-time position may take away my time and freedom to invest as aggressively as I would like to do. Currently I'm under contract on my 7th unit after two years of investing, but, with a full-time job, this has been tough to balance.
Any other attorneys out there who have found a balance that worked for them? Any fields or positions that are more useful than others when investing?
Any non-legal real estate positions that I should consider?
Thanks in advance for your comments! These forums are the best.
Respectfully,
Casey

@Casey Caton If you like law, I think I would find something to do with law....that's probably your highest and best income generator, to then reinvest in real estate. Do some kind of real estate law to combine the two interests. Could that be with a title company or a government organization, a lender, a real estate developer? Seems easy with any job to get bogged down, but also as a real estate attorney could you not set your own hours to focus on what you love best or what makes the most money?
