I have a question about HELOC vs cash out refi
Is a HELOC or cash out refi better in today's current market? My family will be purchasing a foreclosed property at auction soon. A couple of us are contributing. The home will be in my name only. My initial plan was to wait 6 months (per my bank's rules) to pull the equity out to reimburse the other two family members their money. One of the family members is pulling from an account in which they'll be taxed heavily if they can't put their money back within 60 days. That person is still willing to wait 6 months or more in order to get the maximum equity out of the home. And to be transparent, I really wanted to wait the 6 months to boost my credit score. I know that mortgage rates are low, but in the end, won't i be able to get more money out of a HELOC?
