Anyone investing in Texas? Please share your experience

I am a current Californian resident with some real estate experience and is considering moving to Texas. Despite their high property taxes, Texas has generally low housing prices that contrast starkly to that of California. And I heard a lot of Californians are moving to Texas for similar reasons, in addition to many other good things about Texas. Has anyone else invested in Texas before? What is your experience like?
