Can Previous Owner return back after i take possession?

Hello, I took possession after the auction after couple days by changing locks. I had my new owner sign posted. After couple days previous owner calls and says i havent abandon the property i have my things in there and iam not ready. I did told the obvious things like i will pay him for his fridge and washer dryer. But he says i will let you know when iam ready.... So i said fine and met him gave the keys back. Now there is no one living after a week. Should i go ahead and take possession again? and this what if he demands back?.........  in short what if anyplace , if previous owner returns, what do you do?   Thanks
