Anyone Print/Ship their own Yellow Letters?

Hi all!

I've seen some pretty dated posts around this so I wanted to bring up the topic of self made yellow letters and if anyone is doing it / found success?

I've been using a yellow letter company for a handful of campaigns now and have just been thoroughly disappointed in service. I'm more than likely switching companies for my next campaign but also toyed with the idea of just doing it myself.  I know I can get a little bit of a bulk discount from the Post Office nearby on postage - but also wanted to ask about printers / software to get the job done?

I have programming experience so writing something up that parses through a formatted CSV/Excel file to grab individual names/address wouldn't be all that difficult on my end (though sending each file the printer would be new for me programmaticly).  My biggest question is hardware and if anyone has insight on the costs + time for DIY with the right tooling versus using a service?
