Title Company mixed up documents and recorded stranger on title

Has this ever happened to anyone before? Seems like a massive mistake mixing up 2 transactions. One is my refinance along with another couple's title change due to marriage or something like that. I only knew because I looked up the country registrar. Deed of Trust is correct, but Quit Claim Deed shows Seller/Buyer as the stranger so it doesn't make sense.m  They are investigating it now and promised to fix it, but what recourse/compensation should they give me?

Should've gotten some sort of warranty deed with the lender involved.  Should've also gotten title insurance for same.  I don't know if you have demonstrable damages (like you want to sell tomorrow), but I'd think you'd be made whole for any damages from the title companies mistake.

End of the day, you should suffer no loss due to this mis-recordation.  However, think I'd deep six any dealings with that title company.
