Payment Scheduled Advice

James Sanluc
Posted

Hello,

I have a GC that quoted me approx 30k a job consisting of the following high level items for a small home rehab (approx 950 sq ft). What are your thoughts on the payment scheduled? He is saying 40% up front (12K) so that he can cover materials and likely workers. Followed by 30% at the halfway point. Then depending on the length of the job followed by another 30% OR  he can break this final payment into two via 15% and then another 15% at the final walk through.

Electrical
Plumbing & HVAC
Framing
Sheetrocking
Paint & Trim
Bathroom rehab (small bathroom)
Kitchen cabinets with countertops (non stone)
New hot water heater
