Hey everyone my name is Zach, I am from the Alton, IL area. My main inspiration for wanting to invest in real estate is my Grandpa, he currently has around 30 properties that he has rented out with some of his tenants being the same ones he’s had since he started 20+ years ago. I’ve helped him rehab houses since I was a kid. All that being said I am just now getting into the real estate game due to some poor financial decisions, and some poor educational choices. I would like to focus on single family homes and some small multi family properties (duplexes, triplexes) I discovered the Bigger Pockets Podcast while at work a couple weeks ago. I started listening to it every day while at work. I am incredibly excited to get into real estate I hope to learn as much as I can from my grandpa and all of you in this group. Even though I’m new it seems like everyone is always willing to offer advice, and knowledge, it’s super encouraging, and somewhat comforting to know that I have access to so much information and so many tips so thank you all in advance.

All that being said I am trying to by another rental property, I want to get established in a local area for now so that I can manage them and learn what it takes to be a good landlord, and what it takes to make good business decisions. I’m having a hard time deciding what area to try and start in, what are some processes that you all to make that decision? Thank you all in advance!
