Recommendations for Real Estate Mentorship Programs
Hi BP family,
I just joined BP this week and I'm completely inspired to get started and grow with this community. I started learning RE (reading+listening) educational materials/content for the last three months, but I understand that I'd need a mentor or a coach to have a more in-depth experience so that I can get started with RE investing. I'm particularly interested in co-desining a strategy and a plan that I can follow with commitment. I've talked to several of the big "guru" reps with ridiculous cost for using their "tools" and "systems" that are also available with low cost and low-key educators who are not super organized but are able to support their students. During the last months, I've screened many of them as well but I've just been cautious so I've not made any final decisions. I'm sure there are many I've not covered as well so I'd like to know if BP members have strong recommendations of mentorship/coaching programs for RE investing. Can you pls share them below? If you've personal experience or a case study following the program it's even better. I can get all the tips I get because I'm here to learn. If it helps to be specific, I'm looking into wholesaling and/or rental properties (buy and hold) strategies. Thank you so much!

I do not have any recommendations because as a general rule I am skeptical about the value of such programs. You sound like a very sensible person. Caution is warranted as there are a lot of charlatans out there who make money by taking newbie investors' money in exchange for "teaching" some basic principles to which you already have access for free on this website and from other online and published sources. Starting out as a real estate investor feels like you are taking a first few steps out on a tightrope. Scary. Know that you will make a few errors along the way. You will miss some great or good opportunities and make deals that do not work out in the end. There is no better education than learning by doing. The math you need to know/understand is not that complicated (high school level) and common sense takes care of a lot of what you will need to make some good deals.
