Where to start when trying to Sell a Portfolio

David Bergeron
Posted

Hello,

I have been listening to BP for some time now and finally bit the bullet and began investing about a year ago. I am closing on a 4th property and will have 11 doors bringing in around $60k per year after general expenses. The goal is not to sell out but to upgrade to larger multi family opportunities. I have a property manager but he has never tried to sell a portfolio before. I assume the best first step would be to find a realtor that does portfolio acquisitions regularly and is comfortable with the ins and outs of this sort of transaction. Are there other recommendations of where to start? Or things I should look out for when it comes to finding the right realtor to sell or trying to sell it on my own? Also, I have already created a slideshow of sorts to show the properties and their incomes along with general facts about the tenants and properties individually, easiness of finding new tenants and information about the city they are located (Amarillo, TX). If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I am eager to continue moving up in my real estate career.

Thank you
